Founder and President
Brian Taylor is founder and president of Kernel Season’s™, America’s number one popcorn seasoning brand. As president, Taylor oversees all aspects of the company, with a particular focus on sales and marketing.
Taylor, a life-long popcorn enthusiast, developed the idea for Kernel Season’s after countless nights creating custom flavors for his favorite snack in his college dorm room. It wasn’t long before friends and follow students came knocking on his door requesting his special popcorn seasonings. With its popularity growing, Taylor decided it was time to share his idea with popcorn fans everywhere.
During his final two years at the University of Michigan, Taylor worked day and night with a team of flavor experts to develop a full line of all natural, shake-on popcorn seasoning blends. Using money from summer jobs and with the support from his family and friends, Taylor officially launched Kernel Season’s in 2000 after graduating.
Upon leaving college, Taylor made his first business move at a local Chicago movie theater where he offered free shake-on samples to movie patrons looking for a fun and tasty alternative to traditional salt and butter toppings. Today, Kernel Season’s is offered at more than 25,000 movie theaters nationwide and is available for purchase at over 30,000 retail stores across the country including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Safeway, Stop & Shop, Meijer, Food Lion, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Kmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and Family Video.
As part of Taylor’s ongoing mission to shake up America’s popcorn flavor, Kernel Season’s recently debuted a new look for its entire line of all natural, crave-able popcorn seasonings and premium popcorn products. The new packaging features bolder colors and an updated logo to highlight the brand’s versatility, irresistible flavors and high-quality ingredients consumers have come to love for over a decade.
Taylor holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and stays active as a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, Young Presidents Organization and Alzheimer’s Association.
A “Windy City” native, Taylor resides in Chicago with his wife and two daughters.
