Donald McIntyre has an exceptional record of driving enterprise growth through solid financial management skills, establishing cost saving supply chain programs, efficient integrations, and focus on creating/executing breakthrough sales and marketing programs. He has gained a unique experience in developing best operational practices within multiple organizations throughout Europe and North America and applying them to create substantial value.

In his current role as President Western Region at United Natural Foods, Mr. McIntyre is responsible for the Sales, Pricing and Financial Operations of the Company’s western U.S. operations. UNFI is North America’s leading independent national distributor of natural, organic & specialty food and related products.

Previously, as President and Chief Executive Officer at Claridge Foods, Mr. McIntyre was recruited by the Bronfman Family-(Seagram’s) to integrate acquisitions, restructure, and drive growth in this $250MM investment portfolio of seven natural, organic and specialty food companies with revenue over $400MM, 1,800 employees, 8 manufacturing facilities and offices located throughout the USA and Canada. At Claridge Foods he defined a niche acquisition strategy, set a focused product portfolio strategy, created cost reduction operating protocol, and developed innovative new products establishing category leading brands and products, all leading to EBITDA improvement across the portfolio of +15 pts.

Prior to this experience, Mr. McIntyre was President and Chief Executive Officer at the $350MM Retail Coffee & Tea Division of the Sara Lee Corporation, having been promoted from his starting position as Chief Financial Officer. In these roles he turned around the company to profitability, led the nationwide introduction of Senseo single-serve coffee pods, implemented cost saving logistics/supply chain programs and led the company’s successful divestiture.

Previous Sara Lee positions included several sequential CFO & Supply Chain roles with their Household & Body Care Divisions in Canada, Denmark, and France, where he implemented strategic and operational financial initiatives that reduced working capital needs, implemented the SOP business process, increased profitability, established new distributor and outsourcing agreements, and provided web-based customer service solutions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. McIntyre was Vice President Finance & Operations at Coranco Corporation Limited in Canada; Manager at Montreal Trust; and Audit Manager at KPMG in Montreal.

Mr. McIntyre received his Bachelor of Commerce Major Accounting, Cum Laude, and his Diploma of Chartered Accounting from Concordia University in Canada.
