Lori Levy is a dynamic food professional with deep expertise in customs, international trade, logistics, sourcing and brand building. As a licensed U.S. Customs Broker, she oversees importation of specialty foods and builds brands and product offerings. With enthusiasm and attention to detail, Lori simplifies the development process, helping others navigate the regulatory maze that can often cause great frustration for start-ups and growing businesses alike.
In her role as Director of Trade and Product Development for Fairway Market from 2010 – 2015, Lori led the development Fairway’s branded product offerings, including sourcing and importing fine foods from around the world. She is well versed in the many nuances of product development, and adept at seeing projects from inception to fruition.
Lori brings knowledge and passion for great food and cooking to her work. Constantly in search of the next best food trend, Lori spends a great deal of time traveling in the US and throughout Europe. She enjoys researching, writing and speaking about her culinary adventures and about the people behind the products.
Lori is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and of Fordham University’s School of Law in New York. She spent her early professional years as an attorney specializing in the boutique field of customs and trade law.
A proud mother of two, Lori is a vested member of her community. She is involved with diverse organizations that make a daily difference in the lives of New Yorkers including the New York Common Pantry, NYCA Charter School for Autism, the Toy Industry Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House. She serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Israel of the City of NY.
