Pete Speranza grew up in Western New York. He attended Canisius College and received a BS in Economics/Finance in 1992. In 2013 he received his MBA from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business. He was a 4 year starter and Captain of a Division 1 ice hockey program as Canisius College.

Pete played 4 years of professional Hockey before joined General Mills in 1997. He is currently the Operation Business Manager in the newly formed innovation division called 301INC. During his 17 year career at General Mills, he has managed Big G Cereal (Buffalo, NY), Pillsbury dough (Boston, MA), Betty Crocker Meals (Chicago, IL), and Yoplait (Minneapolis) business platforms.

Recently, Pete’s overall responsibility is to direct all of the supply chain activities and drive commercialization excellence for 301Inc across a diverse portfolio of food products. Pete is also a leader amongst the 301INC team in creating an external innovation partnership vision/strategy which includes founding a new food division for the MN cup. The MN cup is the largest statewide entrepreneur innovation competition in the country.

He is a champion at General Mills and is currently a board member for a NFP called Youth care/Camp sunrise. This organization helps about 300 urban youths a year to take responsibility, leadership and understand how to make a difference in the community.  He also Volunteers his time as a Hockey instructor during the General Mills annual drive for United Way.

Pete lives in Minneapolis with a son named Gavin.
